Here is Hannah Elyse Price. Posted by Hello

Happy Birthday Hannah Elyse Price

Well, it has been a pretty tough week.

Saturday, Jennifer went into pre-term labor. We originally went to the hospital with a bladder infection or possible kidney stone. After they checked her the nurse said Jennifer was 4-5 cm dialated and in preterm labor. They gave Jennifer multiple medications to stop the contractions and they succeeded. Dispite all of their effort Jennifer started contracting again Tuesday evening, and Hannah had to be delivered. From everyone's best guess, this seemed to be caused by either a bladder infection, uterine infection, or some other infection but noone knows for sure.

Hannah Elyse Price was born on March 22, 2005 weighing in at 2 lbs 3 ozs and measuring 13 3/4 inches. She was able to breathe without a ventilator for about 18 hours after she was born, which the doctor and nurses said was very good. She was then put on the ventilator because she was just getting too tired. But when we left the hospital today Hannah was doing really good, and the neonatologist said that she has exceeded all of his expectations. We are just going to keep praying that Hannah continues to grow and stay healthy.

Emily's Party

This past weekend we went to Dallas for our niece, Emily's 2nd birthday party. It was so much fun! It was also nice to see Marcus' family. We hadn't seen them in a while. As usual Marcus and Steve acted like...well, Marcus and Steve. Shelly gave me a ton of baby stuff and some maternity clothes. We are very appreciative. They rented this blow up maze thing. It was like a tunnel. And, YES...at 6 months pregnant you know I crawled through that thing with Emily. It was GREAT! We had such a good time, and as usual did not want to leave.

I have to go. I have a breastfeeding class tonight! I'm so excited. We love all of you!

Our nightly ritual...Hannah loves listening to her Baby Bach CD from her Dad and the Lullabies CD from her Aunt G and Uncle Ryan. It really seems to calm her. I hope she comes out as musically talented as her Dad. Posted by Hello

6 months

Hello all!

I hope everyone is doing well, making it through cold season OK. We just got back last weekend from Branson. We had a great time! It was very relaxing and well needed. Hannah racked up on clothes. That tends to happen when you go to an Osh Kosh and Carter's outlet store. Marcus was so cute picking out clothes for her. I can tell they will be the best of friends. I may be put on the back burner for awhile after she gets here. I guess I will be needed for one thing... MILK! No, I'm just kidding, but he is going to be a GREAT Dad. This little girl has no idea how much she is already loved.

Like I said, Branson was much needed. Especially after the trip to the hospital the week before. Yes, we got our first experience in labor and delivery about 2 weeks ago, I still have the track marks to prove it. A stomach virus latched on to me for about 12 hours and I couldn't shake it. Marcus made an executive decision and we were on our way to the hospital. The ER staff QUICKLY took me to L&D where I was put on baby monitors. 4 hours later...they decided maybe I needed to stop throwing up, and finally gave me an IV with this cool drug Phenergen. It knocked me OUT! They pumped about 1500 ccs of fluid into me. Poor Marcus sat there the whole day while I slept. He didn't eat, sleep, or anything. I felt so bad for him. We came home later that night. It was not fun! But, Hannah and I are fine and back to normal. She was a little mad from being up all night and not eating and made us very aware of it. They couldn't keep her on the monitor, she kept swimming away from it. She is hard headed like her Mom. I think we will keep her, anyway.

Well, we are 24 weeks and counting. Hannah is so active these days. Sometimes it feels like she is trying to bust through my belly button. She seems to be on a schedule pretty much. She is awake at the same times everyday, including when her Dad comes home from work at 700. They have their hellos and I love yous and she goes to sleep until about 930 when I am trying to go to sleep and she is all over the place. It is so cool! Marcus has felt her a couple of times, but she is still a little small. I want him to be able to feel her so bad! His eyes light up when he can feel her though. It is really special! We see our new DR Monday. Yes, I am changing DRs at 6 months pregnant. I know, it is silly, but Marcus and I have decided this is best. We really want to have Hannah "naturally" and my old DR is not really for that. He practices at UAMS and they tend to push you the other way. We have changed to a Christian based clinic that delivers at Baptist Hospital or St. Vincent's where they are more "natural" friendly. We are pretty excited about it. Hopefully all goes well.

Well, anyway, enough rambling. We love all of you and hope to see yall soon!

Love,
Jennifer

Sorry about the glare, I was taking it myself! This one is for you Kerri!  Posted by Hello

22 weeks and growing....

I know, I know, we haven't posted in awhile. We have been so busy lately as the time is winding down. As you can tell, the ultrasound in January was amazing. There is nothing like seeing your daughter stare back at you for the first time. She will certainly be such a blessing in our lives. She sure has three rambunctious cousins to keep up with. The doctor said everything looks perfect, except for the placement of the placenta. We have to go back on the 7th of March to make sure that it moves up. But the cool thing is, we get to have a 3D ultrasound then. I will get to prove to Marcus that she has his feet. We can't wait!!!!

Marcus will be moving to the Technical Analyst Team. No, I don't know what that is! All I know is that he will be working 8-5 with every weekend off. HALLELUJAH! It will help so much with our schedule. He sure is excited. Work has been so busy lately, with the flu and all. It seems everyone has the flu or strep throat. Can't wait for those daycare germs. I guess it is now or later though, right?

We went on a tour of the daycare and it is AWESOME! $97 a week, but they provide everything except formula and I can nurse twice a day. Marcus doesn't think it is fair that I will get to see her while I'm at work though. They have curriculums for every age, yes, even 6 weeks old. They have lesson plans. The people there are so warm and helpful. They really make you feel good about leaving your baby. I am just glad she will have social interaction. That is so important to us.

We have decided to use Delaney's old bedding that Angie and Ryan have so graciously made available to us. It is alphabet letters in somewhat primary colors. She will have a very bright, happy room.

I still haven't felt Hannah kick yet. I can feel her move and tap dance on my bladder, but not kick. I think she is still a little small. One of the DR at the hospital told me today that if Hannah put her hand palm down with outstretched fingers, that it would fit in the circumference of a QUARTER! That is a little hand. We have a baby in ACH now that was born at 22 weeks, so sad. Her father's wedding ring could fit around her wrist. WOW! That is hard to think about. Anyway, everything else is going well. My belly grows more and more everyday. I still think she is built like her Daddy and needs more room. So far, she pretty much stays in a little ball right in front. Occasionly, she will get stuck on my left side and I have to move her so I can sit comfortably at work. So far, she minds me pretty well. I'm sure that will change.

Elvis is doing great, too. He and Marcus play everyday. I can't really play with him that much, but occasionally he will jump up and lick on my belly. He likes to kiss his little sister!!!!!!!!

Anyway, that is pretty much all that is going on. I hope everyone is doing well. We love all of you and hope to see yall soon.

Love,
Jennifer and Marcus

Happy New Year!

WOW! Where did 2004 go? We had a great year, though. Our families are happy and healthy, we have a wonderful home in a place that we love, a sweet doggy, and a little one on the way, what more can you ask for. God has truly blessed us.

We had a great time over the holidays in Jena and in Ruston. Both weekends were too short. It was so nice to see the three girls. Emily grows so much between visits. They are too few and far between. Laney is fun and energetic. She makes me smile when she walks in the room. And Maddy, wow, what a handful. She is so loving and so cute. Those curls! I can't imagine our lives without any one of them.

We got an AWESOME digital camara from my mom and dad for Christmas, the following pictures are some we took with it. Marcus read that instruction manual all the way home to LR.

We had a DR appointment today. We finally heard the heartbeat. No recording though, sorry. Not too much longer till we know what "it" is. My nurse practitioner is guessing BOY. That seems to be the consensus with everyone. I am still not sure. She said everything looks good. I had some blood work done and am awaiting the results. It is always scary. All you can do is pray that everything is fine.

Well, I have to go, but I hope everything is well with everyone. We love all of you.

Love,
Jennifer
